Dabiri-Erewa Congratulates World Bank Director on Appointment

Nigerian in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Chairman/CEO, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa on Wednesday, led a delegation to the World Bank Director to Nigeria Africa Region, Mr Shubham Chaudhurito, to congratulate him on his recent appointment, and also discuss issues on discrepancies in diaspora Remittances figures and how the Labour Migration can be managed.
According to the report posted on the Commission’s Twitter handle, Dabiri-Erewa said the current figure is set at 24-25 billion dollars. The PWC also came up with same figure after a research. She stated that the parliament has asked to look into this, as there were discrepancies, with IOM and PWC being able to only account for 10%, Hence the reason why the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission was asked to work with the World Bank and figure out how these figures came about.
Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa added that the Commission, being new, needed support to grow, with the diaspora database and mapping so far being around 15 million, One of the Commission’s major priorities is to have an accurate database, she said.
