BREAKING: Nigeria U17 Walloped Ecuador 3-2 to Top Group B
By Shola Akingboye – October 29, 2019
Following their 4-2 defeat of Hungary in the ongoing FIFA U17 junior Wolrd Cup, the Nigerian U17 national football on Tuesday night once again proved their mettle as they defeated their Ecuadorians counterparts 3-2 at the Estadio Olimpico stadium in Brazil.
As monitored, RegentAfrica Times reports that coach Manu Garba boys dominated the first half of the match by 54% to 46% as rated, as Ibrahim Sa’id open their opponent’s net at the 5th minutes into the game, but the Ecuadors struggled to level the game at 1-1 equalizer at the 10th minutes of the game.
The lackadaisical approach by the Nigerian side into the second half, however, got the boys punished by a lead goal by Ecuadors at the 56th minute through a penalty awarded by the referee, and perfectly delivered by Johan Andrea.
Meanwhile, the undying spirit in team Nigeria players would soon pave way for the Garba boys equaliser at 84 minutes by Ibrahim Sa’id, who equally rattled their opponents with another winning goal at 89th minute of the Group B encounter.
The Nigerian side will face Australia in their last Group B match, while Ecuador faces Hungary to determine who joins Nigeria into the round 16 of the FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil.
