Breaking: Police Invite Timi, Busola Dakolo over Alleged Falsehood

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF), has invited singer, Timi Dakolo and his wife, Busola Dakolo, a celebrity photographer, for interrogation over alleged falsehood.
The invitation letter, signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police IGP Special Tactical Squad of the Nigerian Police Force was delivered at the Lekki residence of the Dakolos around 6pm, may not be unconnected with allegation of rape by Busola against founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.
The invitation letter to the couple which came from the office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Special Tactical Squad shows that Timi and Busola are to visit the Nigeria Police Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, July 23.
Although the invitation letter cited by RegentAfrica Times, only gave reasons for the invitation without mentioning those the couple leveled the falsehood on.
The letter reads in part: “This office is investigating a case of Criminal Conspiracy, Falsehood Mischief and Threat to life that your name was mentioned.
“You are kindly requested to interview the undersigned officer on 23/07/2019 by 1000hrs for fact findings through DSP. Ibrahim Agu with telephone number 0803786191. Acknowledge receipt. Accept my warmest regards please,” it added.
Busola had alleged Fatoyinbo raped her at 16 in Ilorin while attending his church.
The couple was accused of “criminal conspiracy, falsehood, mischief and threat to life.”
Meanwhile, there was drama during delivery of the invitation letter as the couple raised alarm with the social media awash with alleged invasion of their private residence by police operatives.
Calls to Police spokesman Frank Mba were not answered or returned. But a police source confided the Police authorities will issue a statement shortly on the matter.
