Candido Cautions Against Disparaging Traditional Rulers

The Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abdullahi Adamu Candido in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has kicked against disrespecting leaders in AMAC especially traditional rulers in the Council.
Candido issued the warning during an interactive session with security agencies at sensitisating meeting, to ensure a free, fair and credible election in FCT.
According to a statement made available to our correspondents by his Chief Press Secretary, Jibreel Muhammad Babangoshi.
The AMAC Chairman also warned residents particularly politicians against dragging Royal fathers into politics, says it portends great danger to the society.
According to him, “Our Royal Fathers are custodians of our heritage, cultures, norms and values and no politician will be allowed to disgrace or drag them into politics.”
The statement quoted Candido saying that “Therefore, gone were the days of 16 years of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where traditional rulers will be issued threats to their throne of which they inherited, by a politician who is seeking for a 4-8 year term.
“These threats will no longer be tolerated under the present Leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) and the FCT Minister is serious about that.” He noted.
