Buhari Proposes New Salary for Teachers Equal Salary with the Police

It was another record breaking relief for government employed teachers in the country as President Muhammadu Buhari has demonstrated part of his Next Level promises to increase teachers salary structures in the country.
According to the new salary scales for education sector:
Gl 07= Assistant Education Officer (AEO) – N198,000
Gl 08= Education Officer (EO) – N254,000
Gl 09= Senior Education Officer (SEO) II – N271,000
Gl 10= Senior Education Officer (SEO) I – N296,000
Gl 12= Principal Education Officer (PEO) – N321,000
Gl 13= Assistant Chief Education Officer (PEO) – N342,000
Gl 14= Chief Education Officer (CEO) – N419,000
Gl 15= Assistant Director Education (ADE) – N483,000
Gl 16= Deputy Director Education (DDE) – N531,000
Gl 17= Director Education (DE) – N1.5million.
It would be recall that President Muhammadu Buhari late last years said that a comprehensive policy of improved remuneration for the workers in the education sector and a genuine pension scheme are already being worked out for teachers and all public servants in the country.
He made the remark at the 2018 Nigeria’s Annual Education Conference with the Theme: “Education for Self-Reliance: A System’s approach to Education for the achievement of Education 2030 Agenda” held on Tuesday at the Sheraton hotel, Abuja.
